Mental health support and Text Notts update
The Text Notts text service, which enabled people with mental health issues to text the word Notts to 85258 and get advice, will no longer be available locally from 31 August 2024 .
People in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire should access urgent mental health care using our 24/7 crisis line (0808 196 3779), or crisis sanctuaries. Further details on these crisis services can be found on the Nottinghamshire Healthcare website.
There are a number of other services available to support people with their mental health including Local mental health advice and help for young people in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, all in one place | NottAlone.

People can still get mental health support via text message by texting Shout to 85258. For more information about the free and confidential national Shout service please visit this website.
The service is open around the clock and volunteers, can help support people who are sad, worried, lonely or suicidal and need in-the-moment support. The conversation, which takes place entirely by text message, aims to help the texter reach a calmer place with a plan to move forward. Volunteers may provide people with further resources or tools to help them get more expert support.
