Before you join us

Before you join us

Before you join us, your line manager will keep in contact with you.

  • Once the Recruitment Team have confirmed your pre-employment checks are cleared, you will be asked to agree your start date with your manager, who will confirm the agreed date to Recruitment. Your manager will be the contact for arrangements of where to attend on your first day and meeting the team.
  • You may be working face-to-face with your team, or you may be working from home.
  • Your manager is there to help you with all of this. They also want to make sure that everything goes smoothly for you.

Before your first day:

  • Please sign and return the contract and payroll form so we can pay you on time.
  • Set up your access to the e-Academy, which is the system we use for staff training.
  • Some of your Statutory and Essential training will be completed during your induction weeks. You can access the e-Academy before you start in your role to review the training requirements.
  • If you require any specialist equipment or ways of working, for example to support a disability, please talk with your manager.

e-Academy

All new starters have access to the e-Academy 3 weeks prior to starting with NottsHC. This is where you can see what mandatory and essential training you must complete in relation to your role.

Most staff should have received an email from 'Admin User (via Nottinghamshire Healthcare)' to inform them of their username and password and how to log in. Please check your  'Junk E-mail' folder for the email as the email may have been diverted to there.

Your manager will:

Create an induction plan for you. They may be able to share that with you before you start so you know what to expect in your first few weeks.

Allocate you a 'buddy' from the team, who will be your main contact, help and support. They will show you how your team operates, how to contact and connect with people. Your buddy will also show you where to look for operating procedures and relevant policies / guidelines.
