We are excited to announce the elections for our Council of Governors are now open! This is a fantastic opportunity for members of our community and our staff to get involved in shaping the future of Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. Positions Available:
Public Constituencies
- Nottingham City: 2 governors
- Nottinghamshire County: 4 governors (including 1 existing vacancy)
- Rest of England and Wales: 1 governor
Staff Constituencies:
- Medical: 1 governor
- Allied Health Professional: 1 governor
- Nursing: 1 governor
- Clinical Support: 1 governor
Our Council of Governors plays a crucial role in representing the views of our members, staff, and the public. As a governor, you'll have a say in the planning, delivery, and development of our services. This is your chance to contribute to meaningful improvements and help ensure we provide the best care possible to our communities.

What Does the Role Involve?
Governors attend four formal meetings each year, including the Annual Members and Annual General Meeting. You will work closely with our Trust Board to influence strategic planning and ensure the voices of our members are heard. No specific qualifications or previous board-level experience are needed-just enthusiasm and a commitment to making a difference.
How to Stand for Election
Any member of Nottinghamshire Healthcare who is over 16 years old and meets the eligibility criteria can stand to be a governor. There are no specific qualifications or skills required and no experience of board level responsibility is necessary. You just need to be willing to be involved and represent the people in your area. Governors will be appointed for a specific period of office.
